I teach all of my clients to focus on ‘easy life client attraction’; that is getting ideal prospects to find my coaching clients services at the precise moment in time that they are ready to engage their services.

Not all marketing tactics fit into the category of ‘easy life client attraction’, in fact some tactics go out of their way to make it very hard and costly to use them to get coaching clients. Yet sadly, many of the so called ‘coach marketing gurus’ out there only teach the method that they know when it comes to marketing a coaching service, even if it isn’t the best method for coaches to use to get clients fast. It is just the only marketing method that they know how to teach.

If they understand video marketing, they tell you that the only way you can get coaching clients is to become brilliant at video marketing.

If they like facebook, you have to like facebook too as it is the ONLY way to get coaching clients fast (according to them).

This frustrates me no end, as it means you never get to do the ‘easy life client attraction’ that ensures your ideal coaching clients are queuing up to work with you each and every month.

Being a marketing man through and through, I always come at the business of getting coaching clients from a “What is the easiest and most cost effective way of generating coaching clients for my client?”.

It is this approach that allows to consistently have potential coaching and consulting clients booking into my diary to ask me to help them discover how to grow their business.

Where To Start When It Comes To Getting Coaching Clients

When it comes to ‘how to get coaching clients’, I don’t start with the marketing tactic, I start with my coaching client and their prospective clients, then I work out the easiest way to bring them together.

The good news is that it is usually far easier to attract your ideal coaching clients than you might think.

It doesn’t involve complicated facebook advertising campaigns or thousands of hours of video marketing.

It never relies on just one marketing tactic, because that puts your coaching business in too much danger if that one tactic starts working, but two or three marketing tactics delivering coaching clients to you each and every month is more than enough to grow a six figure and beyond coaching business.

Whilst it does of course take some time and effort to grow a six figure coaching business, it is not as much as you might think, and the truth is that usually two or three consistent marketing tactics, automated and leveraged as much as possible, will provide you with all of the coaching clients that you want and need.

The key thing to consider before you decide on the marketing tactics you are going to use to get coaching clients fast is to understand the nature of your service and its’ marketing DNA.

Unless you understand your marketing DNA, you can spend all of your time and money doing the wrong marketing for coaching services. This is often the case when I take on a new coaching client. Once I explain to them their marketing DNA, they can immediately see why the marketing they were undertaking was never going to produce the results that they wanted it to when it comes to attracting coaching clients.

So what is the marketing DNA for a coaching business?

Understanding The Marketing DNA Of Your Coaching Business

When it comes to marketing DNA, you must understand whether your coaching business is a Marketing DNA Nurture or Now business.

I can shortcut that for you at this point in this article, in that 99% of all coaches have a Marketing DNA Nurture business.

What does this mean?

In short, if you have a Marketing DNA Nurture business (and as a coach you do), your prospective clients rarely wake up in the morning, jump out of bed and shout “I am going to hire a coach today!”.

What they do is decide to look for some help around the problem that your coaching business solves.

For example, if you are a business growth coach, they will head to the internet and start to search for advice around ‘how to grow their business’.

If you are a careers coach, they head online to find out how to become a better leader, or how to get promoted at work.

If you are a businese coach, they head to Google to find out how to solve their current problems in their business, whether they relate to recruitment or retaining staff or even just restoring their mojo.

If you are a diet or fitness coach, they go looking for advice and assistance on how to lose weight.

Therefore, when it comes to growing a marketing DNA Nurture coaching business, you need to write articles which answer the questions your ideal clients type into Google every day, then on each of those pages, offer an ‘item of value’ that dives deeper into solving that problem for your prospects in exchange for their email address.

This way, when they head online to find an answer to their problem, they find your website, like what you have to say around the topic, give you their email address in exchange for some more help on the topic, whether that be a checklist, a PDF book, a webinar going into more detail on the topic or even a short video training course.

This then allows you to prove your expertise to them, so that in a few days, weeks or months, when they ARE READY TO BUY YOUR COACHING SERVICES, you are the ONLY coach that they speak with.

The point is, they are looking for a solution to one aspect of the problems that you work with in your coaching business to help them solve.

Therefore, your website must offer all of these people who are looking for this help, some ‘items of value’ in exchange for their addresses so that you can earn the right to prove your expertise over time and sell your services to them.

Once you have this entire process automated, your email list will grow month on month, as will the enquiries for your coaching services and the number of your coaching clients.

This is precisely the way that I have built my health consulting business and the way that all of my coaching and consulting clients have grown their businesses to.

In just a few weeks or months, you too could have clients queueing up to book themselves into your diary to discover more about working with you.

The system isn’t complicated, yet I know most coaches never get it running or get it running properly, so they spend far too much of their time at networking events, or connecting with people on LinkedIn day after day in the vain hope that someone will ask them to help them.

With my coaches marketing system, you won’t need to go to any networking events, unless you choose to.

You will develop and steady and consistent stream of coaching clients ready and waiting to work with you.

Just imagine this:

6 months from now, you wake and take a look at your diary. You have 4 prospects book into your diary this afternoon to find out more about how you can help them. You take a look at each of them on your email list and you see that one signed up for your ‘item of value’ six months ago, one three months ago, and the last two within the last two months.

Until this point, you have had no one on one interaction with them, but they have ALL received your free guide, your six follow up emails and then a weekly email from you which has convinced them that you can help to solve their current problems.

You know that at least two of them will become coaching clients, but as is often the case for you now, maybe all four of them.
