I started my own marketing consultancy business in 2003. Before that, I worked as a solicitor for 14 years. What I share with other owners of expert based businesses on this website and in my services for expert business owners is very simple: everything that I have learned about starting, running and growing an expertise based service business using ‘Easy Life Marketing’ techniques.
Since year two of running my business growth consultancy, I have run a six figure business.
I don’t tell you this to brag, it isn’t yet seven figures so I don’t feel I have any bragging rights, but it is a solid six figure expert consultancy business (pounds, sterling).
I tell you this because I am well aware that there are a substantial volume of so called ‘experts’ out there who sell services and training for expert business owners showing them how to set up and grow their business, with many of them barely scraping past five figures and ALL OF THEM only selling the one marketing method that they know or use.
Nine times out of ten, what they are selling is not an ‘Easy Life Marketing’ way of growing their business, but instead a ‘Hustle, Harass & Harang’ method of marketing, meaning it isn’t as effective as ‘Easy Life Marketing’ and it costs a lot more.
You are an expert and an owner of a service based business. You know your onions. You are good at what you do, you would just like a few more clients and more time to enjoy life.
You may be an architect, a business systemisation consultant, a coach, a copywriter, a graphic designer, an estate agent, a financial adviser, a HR consultant, a marketing consultant, a physiotherapist, a ppc consultant, a podiatrist, a recruitment consultant, a software developer, a surveyor, a website designer, a website developer; it doesn’t really matter which type of expert you are, just that you are an expert.
I don’t work with or advise people who ‘wannabe’ an expert, there are plenty of people selling that dream.
You must already know what you are doing and just be keen to generate more clients for your expert business.
So, if you want to know all of my shortcuts to running a successful expert service business, downloading my plan and resources below will be a really good starting point.
About ‘Easy Life Marketing’
‘Easy Life Marketing’ can be summarised very easily:
‘Easy Life Marketing’ is appearing in front of your ideal prospects at the precise moment in time that they are looking to buy your services.
Let’s analyse the key parts of that statement in a little more detail.
1. Your Ideal Clients
First, you need to know who are your ideal clients.
The reason that this is so vital is because once you know this, you only focus your energy on appearing before them when they are looking for.
You can ignore all of the time wasters, tyre kickers and energy drainers who you do not want to help.
It gives you real focus.
2. Appearing In Front Of Your Ideal Prospects At The Precise Moment In Time That They Are Looking To Buy Your Services
Looking To Buy Your Services is the key part of that section.
It means that they have ‘buyers intent’.
They have already made the decision to find someone who provides the services that you provide and to make contact with them.
This means that we are not talking about all of the methods that make you bombard people with a message when they haven’t gone looking for it, such as:
- Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn where the primary purpose of using those platforms is NOT to find your services.
- Radio, Television or Newspaper advertising, where again, their primary purpose is to obtain content not buy your services.
- Buying an email list and hitting it hard every day with your sales message, winding up the recipients because they didn’t ask to hear from you.
If ‘Easy Life Marketing’ is not any of these methods, which all of the ‘gurus’ sell hard, because it is the only marketing method that they know, then which marketing tactics do work?
