If you have heard that a blog is a good idea for a business, you need to understand the purpose of a blog to ensure that you make the most of it. In this article, I will answer the question “What is the purpose of a business blog?” for you.
What Is The Purpose Of A Business Blog?
I can tell you from many years’ experience of blogging (since 2003) that most people never actually consider this vital question, or if they do, they completely miss the main point of the purpose of a business blog.
They might see a blog as a vanity project, just to put their name out there, but if you don’t know the real purpose, this vanity idea is doomed to failure.
Ultimately, the purpose of a business blog is two-fold. If you understand these two points and consistently apply them, you will have a successful business blog.
1. Purpose Number One Of Your Blog Is To Get People To Your Site Who Could Become Clients Or Customers.
The first purpose is critical to know and understand because once you realise this, you will write better blog posts.
The only real reason to write any blog post is ultimately to move one step closer to gaining a new customer or client.
That is it, is it not?
There is no point blogging if you are not ultimately trying to sell more of your products or services.
Now that you know this, whenever you research or write a blog post, you will always start from the right position of ensuring that your blog will serve your prospects well.
The easiest way to ensure that your blogging content will be successful is to ask this question:
“Am I writing a blog post that answers a question my prospects will type into Google?”
If the answer is no, there is no point in writing that blog post.
Now that you know the main purpose of your blog, and the question you must ask yourself every time that you write a blog post, let’s move on to what happens when you are successful and manage to attract a visitor to your website through one of your successful blog posts.
