How To Use AI For Business

When it comes to the question “How to use AI for Business”, I have one overriding piece of advice for you: very carefully.

I say this having run my consulting business since 2003 and seen many things come and go over that time. Whilst AI has the potential to be incredibly useful, it also has a terrifying flip side, that of taking away all of your personal expertise and making you the same as every other business owner out there.

I do not want that to happen for you, which is why I have created my TRASH system to ensure that you use AI only to improve what you already know, not to replace it.

AI is one of the most exciting developments, but it can also be of significant danger to you and to your business.

I am terrified how quickly some people have come totally reliant upon it, and have almost completely given up thinking for themselves.

That approach is one hundred per cent going to put them out of business in the future, maybe even the very near future.

AI is clearly a great tool, but your mind is also a great tool.

AI will become better the more you use it, just like your brain does, but using it instead of your brain is going to lead to one result and one result only:

AI 1 – Brain 0

This is why I have developed a system for you to use and to follow to ensure that your thinking is what drives your business, not AI’s.

My TRASH AI System To Ensure You Keep Your Competitive Edge

Here is my TRASH system which I know will keep yours and my brain in good use for the longer term and ensure that your business doesn’t end up in the trash can.

It allows you to use AI, but only after you have used your unique, competitive edge.

How To Use AI For Business

1. THINK

Think: You think about the challenge, problem or opportunity before you, or the article or email that you want to write. You spend time collecting your views based on your many years of expertise. This is your unique expertise, unmatchable by AI, so you must keep practising it.

2. Record/Create

Record/Create. You create (write/record/video) your thoughts so that they are down on paper, on voicemail or on screen.

3. Assess.

Assess: Now you check your work, just as you have done for all of the years before AI came knocking on your door. You look at it objectively and consider if there is anything else that you need to cover or discuss, giving yourself plenty of time to consider this.

I often wait 24 hours before assessing my own work as I find my subconscious brain will keep on thinking about it and then come back to me with some other points.

Great creativity should not be rushed.

4. Seek AI’s Opinion

Seek AI’s Opinion. Now that you have spent time assessing and reviewing your own work, can you ask AI if there is anything else that you should consider including in your own work.

5. Hone.

Hone. Once AI gives you some additional pointers, you refine and hone your work, and check it for accuracy and then finally do a spelling and grammar check to ensure that it is fit to publish!

Your Work, Improved By AI

The crucial part is at the end there – THIS IS YOUR WORK.

If everyone else is using AI to do everything, then it will all eventually be the same.

There will be no way to fully separate everyone who is reliant on AI to produce their ‘same’ work, so they will all be the same, and the price will reduce accordingly if they even still have a business to charge people from.

However, if you are publishing your thinking, your creativity and only using AI to check it over and suggest what is missing, you are going to stand head and shoulders above your competition.

When you do that, you can charge a premium for your work.

Isn’t that precisely what we want to do as experts in our field?
