I gave you some reasons last week why it is so absolutely vital that you have an email list and that you communicate with it consistently.
I have some good business friends who asked me for advice about how to arrange their new book launch. I started off by telling them to grow their email list for at least six months before they launched their book. They laughed. “An email list, in this day and age” they scoffed.
They clearly thought their ‘older’ friend had lost it. However, I persevered and in the end they gave in. What happened? They had an incredibly successful book launch with a sold out launch party, reached number 1 in the Amazon Bestseller’s list and have received over 56 positive reviews on Amazon for their book.
All from an ‘old fashioned’ email list.
When you communicate with your prospects by email and you get your subject and email content right, you have their undivided attention for the duration of time it takes to read that email. You are not sharing their attention with videos of squirrels dancing, friend’s baby pictures or a million other things that are happening on social media.
You have your prospects undivided attention.
That’s a good thing, isn’t it?
Next time I am going to talk about email Subject lines, how important they are and a framework to help you come up with good subject lines.
If you haven’t yet set up your email marketing database, now would be a great time to do so. Remember, if you sign up using my link below and then email me a copy of your email sign up confirmation, I will let you have my easy set up guide to Aweber which includes everything that I have learned from email marketing over the last 16 years. It will ensure that you start your email marketing database off the right way.
Until next time, keep on keeping on.
P.S. Want to know what the book was called? Your Success by Angelos Sanders and Mo Haykin. It’s available on Amazon.
