I have always been about taking action rather than talking about it. Sadly, I know from my time in a mastermind group with many business owners just last week that this trait of mine to get on and take action is far from normal.
I have heard the same people talk about doing the same things in their business for months and yet nothing ever happens.
This is a great lesson for you, as your competitors are more likely than not just like this too.
They are doing very little, if anything, to grow their business.
To beat your competition, you only have to do slightly more than they do!
Anyway, I thought it was worth sharing that with you, to perhaps lighten your day.
Back to email marketing, and last week, in my action taking mode, I decided to test an idea that I had for a new headline idea on my law firm marketing email list.
I took action and guess what?
My new headline idea produced an even higher open rate than my celebrity Steve Jobs idea the week before.
Would you like to know what I did so that you can copy my idea?
I found my top three blogs from my law firm marketing website (in terms of visitor numbers), took the two or three keywords from each blog title, put them in my subject line and had the highest opening rate of my email since October 2018!
That’s not bad, is it?
So, my advice for you this week about headlines is to do exactly the same. It will work well for you too!

- Your clients will never forget who you are and what you do. They will know who to call when they need your service and equally as importantly, when a friend asks them to recommend someone who supplies your service, instead of replying as they do now with “Oh, I can’t remember who I used last time as I haven’t heard from them for years.” they will now be able to reply with “Yes I can. Let me forward to you the last email I received from them.” Much better, isn’t it?
- When your clients next come back to ask about your services, because you have now kept in touch with them consistently, they will ONLY ask you to help them. You will now be in a race of one to win their business and PRICE will not be an issue. How will that feel?
